Motul C3 Chain Lube Off Road

Off-road chains have a harder life than road-bike chains. Mud, dust, sand and water all work their way into the equation, so the chain lubricant needs to protect without turning the chain into a sticky dirt collector.

Motul C3 Chain Lube Off Road is specifically formulated for off-road motorcycle and ATV chains. Its adhesive formulation helps maintain lubrication while riding and is designed to repel sand and soil rather than excessively attracting abrasive contaminants.

It is suitable for standard, O-ring, X-ring and Z-ring chains, making it a versatile choice for modern motocross, enduro, trail and quad bikes.

The yellow/fluorescent colour makes application easier by allowing you to see where the lubricant has been applied.

How To Use

For best results, clean the chain thoroughly before applying lubricant.

1. Clean the chain using a suitable chain cleaner such as Motul C1 Chain Clean.
2. Allow the chain to dry completely.
3. Shake the C3 can well before use.
4. Apply a light, even coating to the inside of the chain while rotating the wheel by hand.
5. Allow the lubricant to penetrate and settle before riding.
6. Wipe away excessive lubricant if required.

For off-road riding, inspect and lubricate the chain regularly, particularly after riding in mud, sand or wet conditions.

C3 vs C2 Chain Lube

Motul C3 Chain Lube Off Road is specifically formulated for dirt, sand and off-road conditions and is the better match for motocross, enduro, trail and ATV use.

Motul C2 Chain Lube Road is formulated for road motorcycles and is designed to adhere strongly to chains operating at higher road speeds.

For a dirt bike that spends its life throwing mud rather than doing 100 km/h down the motorway, C3 is the appropriate chain-lube application.
